Cyclingnews Excellent site with daily news and results from the world of cycling.
Cycling Teams More or less complete lists of teams, riders, and races.
TdF Another boring Armstrong show off. I guess we will have to wait until he has won his six straight title, and hopefully stops there, to get an intereting TdF again.
Giro d'Italia A race overshadowed by doping again. The race itself was won by Paolo 'Il Falco' Savoldelli, who took the pink jersey on the final mountain stage.
Vuelta a Espana Let us hope for as tight a race as the 2001 edition when Casero overtook Sevilla in the final stage.
Memoire du Cyclisme An impressive amount of results from cycling races, all the way back to the early days of cycle racing.
Famous climbs A list of some famous climbs along with some data.
Cols in France A rather extensive list of mountain passes in France.
Colography Profiles of a huge number of climbs in Europe. Also includes a rating of the difficulty of each climb .

Eric Johnson Austin-based rock guitarist. Influenced by, e.g., Hendrix, Wes Montgomery and Jerry Reed. One of the best tones you'll find in rock music. Voted best guitar player for four straight years in the beginning of the 90's by the readers of a major guitar magazine.
Steve Vai Started his professional career transcribing "impossible" guitar parts for Frank Zappa. A true master of weird effects.
Joe Satriani Released one of the best selling instrumental rock guitar albums ever in 1987, namely, Surfing with the alien.
Lee Ritenour Fusion-guitarist, nick-named Captain Fingers in the 70's when rushing between studio and session jobs. Unfortunately, to the best of my knowledge, there is no good web page about him.
Frank Zappa Does humor belong in music? The question that summarizes a lot of the work by one of the most diverse musicians of the 20th century.
Stanley Jordan  Jazz/(fusion) guitarist with a totally unique style. Uses a two-handed touching technique which allows him to play two guitars at once.
Steve Morse Made a name for himself in the 70's when playing with Dixie Dregs. From mid 80's he has released a number of records in his own name (or with the Steve Morse band).
Van Wilks Another Austin guitarist. More of a blues rock player.
Apocalyptica Ever wondered what songs by Metallica sounds like when played extremely aggresively on FOUR CELLOS? Probably not, but now you have a chance to hear it anyway, thanks to these four guys, educated at Sibelius-akademin in Helsinki.
JJ Cale The man whose music you could use as a definition of laid back.
Steely Dan Formed in the early 70's. Were a part of the west coast style that emerged during that decade. Known for being true perfectionists (some critics say they are too perfectionistic).

Miles Davis One of the greatest jazz musicians of all time. Made some really cool records in the 50's and 60's.
John Coltrane Great saxofonist. Active from mid 40s until his much too early death in 1967. Played with Miles Davis in the 50s and early 60s.

Grigory Sokolov I've seen this Russian pianist five times, and every time it has struck me that, although I am really no expert, I am sure that I have heard a great musician.
Evgeny Kissin Russian pianist who just 13 years old began to recieve international attention after performing Chopin's two piano concertos with the Moscow State Philharmonic Orchestra.
John Williams An Austrailian-born classical guitarist with an extraordinary technique. Former Segovia student.

12 great CDs (in no particular order; only one album per artist)

Piano Concerto no 3 Rachmaninov 1909 (The recording I've got is with Ashkenazy, but there are probably other good ones, e.g. with Rachmaninov himself). My favourite movement is the first one.

Piano Concerto no 1 Tchaikovsky 1875 The first theme of the first movement is "ultra-famous", and you would most likely recognize it even if you have never heard the entire concerto. The entire piece is extremely melodic and really pleasant listening to.  It has been recorded by many of the best pianists during the last hundred years, so there is plenty to choose from ...
Royal Scam Steely Dan 1976 Kid Charlemagne, The Caves of Altamira, The Fez, Green Earrings, The Royal Scam.
