The Fourth European Congress of Mathematics
June 27 - July 2, 2004
Dear Participant,
Thank you for your registration. This confirmation letter
contains details of your registration and, where appropriate,
hotel booking, together with some useful extra information.
Congress Venue & Registration
Registration in Stockholm will take place at the congress
venue Aula Magna at the Stockholm University. The registration
desk will be open:
Sunday June 27 hrs 14.30-18.00
Monday June 28 hrs 08.00-17.00
Tuesday June 29 hrs 08.00-17.00
Wednesday June 30 hrs 08.00-17.00
Thursday July 1 hrs 08.00-15.00
Friday July 2 hrs 08.00-19.00
The Fourth European Congress of Mathematics will take place at
Aula Magna. It is both quick and easy to get to the Aula Magna
from Stockholm´s city center. A 10-minute journey on the subway
(red line towards Mörby Centrum) takes you to the station:
Universitetet. You can also take bus line 40, 540 and 670
to bus stop Universitet. If you prefer taxi there is a taxi
stand (Stockholm University no. 6) located at Aula Magna´s
taxi entrance, Frescativägen 10.

Social Programme
Welcome Reception - Sunday, June 27
The reception will be held at Aula Magna at 18.00 hrs.
Opening Ceremony - Monday, June 28
Please note the time for Opening Ceremony is changed to 09.30 hrs.
European Mathematical Society Reception - Monday, June 28
The reception will be held at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH)
at 18.30 hrs. The room will be announced in the final programme.
City Hall Reception - Tuesday, June 29
A reception with buffet will take place at the Stockholm City Hall
at 19.00 hrs sharp. The City Hall is the setting of the Nobel
Prize Banquet in December 10 each year and is situated on
Hantverkargatan 1. It is a 10 minutes walk to the City Hall
from the Central Station. You can also use bus line 62 to
"Stadshuset".
Please check that you have registered for the social events you
would like to participate in.

Transportation from Arlanda Airport to the city (42 km)
Bus: Direct bus connection to the City Terminal in Stockholm
(40 minutes). Buses leave every 10 minutes from Arlanda Airport.
One way ticket: SEK 89 (April 2004).
Train: The Arlanda Express links the Airport with Stockholm
Central Station (20 minutes). Trains leave every 15 minutes
during peak hours. One way ticket: SEK 180 (April 2004).
Taxi: We recommend that you use a company with a set price,
and that you ask for the price before entering the taxi. The ride
to the city should cost no more than approx. SEK 420 (April 2004).
You will receive a public transportation card, when you register valid
for bus, underground and commuter train service in Greater Stockholm.
Please bring this confirmation letter to the registration desk
to receive your Congress material.
