Titel: Computational Toxicology at AstraZeneca

Abstract This presentation will give a short overview of the Drug Discovery process and some of its pitfalls. In particular we will cover attrition due to safety and explain what efforts are put in to detecting compounds with liabilities at an early stage. We will look at the problems at hand within Computational Toxicology and see what sort of statistical modeling methods that is being used. Computational methods are getting more and more attention within the pharmaceutical  industry, more or less anything goes as long as problems are solved at a low cost compared to traditional experiments. Part of the intentions with this presentation is to see if there are areas where improvements can be done quite easily through collaborations with mathematicians.
