Topology optimization of mechanical structures
This talk is about the recent developments in the field of topology
optimization at the Department of Solid Mechanics, DTU, in Denmark.
There will be, depending on the audience, an introduction to the
general terminology in topology optimization; what are the problems and
benefits. The use of topology optimization in design of compliant
mechanisms will be discussed and examples will be presented.
Finally some ideas for the future work of my Ph.D. project with the
preliminary title "Simultaneous topology design of structures
and supports" will be presented.
