This course is an introduction to mathematical problems in Biosciences. The course is self-study and there will be two lectures given by the course leader, as an introduction. Thereafter the students should choose a topic each, and prepare a written report and later have a presentation of that. The attendance to two lectures as well as all presentations are mandatory.
Bio-problems
Related problems in bio that can be considered may include: Wound healing, Tumor growth, Population genetics, Tissue growth, Biochemical reactions, Neurosciences, ...
Mathematical tools:
Basics in differential equations, and partial differential equations. Some Fourier analysis might also be used. Attendance of the course are themselves free to choose mathematical methods that suit the problem they want to discuss.
