Abstract:

This is a survey talk. I will start with a combinatorial problem leading to the definition of Koszul algebras, and discuss several equivalent definitions. Then I will describe several operations preserving the class of Koszul algebras, and say something about how ubiquitous Koszul algebras are. A connection between Koszul projective semigroup algebras and CM-ness of some associated posets will be described.
