Aspects of a remarkable
PDE
ABSTRACT
We discuss some
qualitative aspects of the
Camassa-Holm
equation: the blowup of certain solutions in finite
time, the existence
of global solutions, the soliton interaction of peaked
solitary waves,
the integrability of the equation (as an
infinite-dimensional
Hamiltonian system) and the connection with geodesic
flow on
the diffeomorphism group.
