Integral geometry and tomography
Tomography is the name given to a wide variety of methods for
non-destructively imaging the interior of objects such as the human body. The
mathematics required to recover a realistic image from the measured data can
in many cases be formulated in terms of integral geometric operators. I will
describe a few types of tomography and some of the mathematics involved.
