Patrik Alfredsson was born in Södertälje, Sweden, in 1967. He received a civilingenjör degree in Engineering Physics from KTH in 1991. His main research interests are systems engineering and systems efficiency, concentrated on spare parts optimization problems. As part of his PhD program, Alfredsson has spent nine months at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University during the fall of 1992 and the spring of 1994.
