The evaluation of this course is solely by homework, i.e. there will be no final exam .

You will be awared 7.5 ECTS points for passing this course.

There will be weekly homework, in total 14 homework sets. Every homework set has a maximum score of 10 points, thus 140 points are achievable on homework.

Each homework is due at the lecture in the following week. Late homework will result in a lowered score. If you think you have a valid reason for turning in homework late, you must get permission from the lecturer before the original deadline.

Discussing the homework problem with each other is admissible and even encouraged, but you have to formulate your solutions separately. Identical or nearly identical solutions are not acceptable.

The minimum scores required for each grade are given by the following table:

A B C D E FX F
118 106 94 82 70 60 0

A score between 60 and 69 is a failing grade with the possibility to improve to an E grade by additional work.

Make-up exams: If you have taken this course in a previous year but have not passed, and you want to be re-examined this year, please contact the lecturer from your university.
