SF2976 Portfolio Theory, Projects

The presentations should be 15 minutes long. A computer and a projector will be available.

Each group should prepare an opposition to another group's presentation. The report you should read will be assigned to you. The presentation and the opposition are compulsory for all group members.

The projects can be done in groups of up to four students. You must form the groups yourself. After this, you should send an email to Ali containing the names and email of all group members, as well as a ranking (of one to four) on which of the seminars you wish to do your presentation and opposition. Your opposition will not be done on the same seminar as your presentation. You will be given the occasions of highest rank which is available when you send your booking. The available occasions are the four last occasions in the course plan (30/11, 6/12, 7/12 and 12/12).

Attendance at a seminar besides your own presentation and opposition gives 2 points on the project. A maximum of 4 points can be obtained through attendance.

Each group must e-mail their report to Ali the day before their presentation (before 13.00). Reports will be available for download on this page at 14.00 the day before the seminar.

Your points on the homework sets should be rounded to 0, 5 or 10. For example, 8 is rounded to 10.
Problem 1 on the exam consists of two parts.
5 points on the homework will give full credit on the first part.
10 points will give full credit on Problem 1.

Your points on the project, including points for attendance, should be rounded to 0, 5, 10, 13, 16 or 20. For example, 18 is rounded to 20 and 17 is rounded to 16.
Problem 2 on the exam consists of two parts, and problem 3 consists of three parts.
5 points on the project will give full credit on the first part of Problem 2.
10 points will give full credit on Problem 2.
13 points will give full credit on Problem 2 and on the first part of Problem 3.
16 points will give full credit on Problem 2 and on the first and the second part of Problem 3.
20 points will give full credit on Problem 2 and 3.
