Solutions to the final exam March 16.

The location of the exam depends on the first letter of your last name: A‑F room D32, G‑R room D33, S‑Ö room D34.

The exam will take place March 16 (8:00-13:00). Anyone who plans to take the exam has to register. Registration is open until Feb 22, (24:00).

Homework 12 due Mar 6, via e-mail or in the homework box at the expedition of the mathematics department

Date, time, location

This course is unusual in that it stretches over periods 2 and 3 of 2014/15, i.e. from November 2014 to March 2015.

There is one lecture and one exercise session every week, on varying days, times, and locations. The precise schedule can be found here.

The first lecture of Part I is on Tue Nov 4, 08:15 – 10:00 in M32.

Course content

Group theory: groups, permutations, symmetry, homomorphisms, group actions, Sylow theorems

Ring theory: rings, ideals, fields, principal ideals and unique factorization, modules, finitely generated modules over PIDs
