The evaluation of this course is solely by homework, i.e. there will be no final exam .

You will be awared 7.5 ECTS points for passing this course.

There will be weekly homework, in total 14 homework sets. Every homework set has a maximum score of 10 points.

Each homework is due at the beginning of the lecture in the following week. Late homework will not be accepted unless you have a compelling reason you cannot turn in the homework in time. Even in that case, you must get permission from the lecturer before the original deadline.

Discussing the homework problem with each other is admissible and even encouraged, but you have to formulate your solutions separately. Identical or nearly identical solutions are not acceptable.

For your final grade, only your best 12 homework sets will count. You can thus miss two homework sets without spoiling your final grade.

The minimum scores required for each grade are given by the following table:

A B C D E FX F
100 90 80 70 60 55 0

A score between 55 and 59 is a failing grade with the possibility to improve to an E grade by additional work.

Make-up exams: If you have taken this course in a previous year but have not passed, and you want to be re-examined this year, please contact the lecturer from your university.
