 NEW  INFORMATION
Final Exam  Final exam will be on December 12th , 10:00 - 14:00, in classrooms K51 and K53. It will be written, and will contain a few problems similar to those in th homework assignments. You may use Friedman's book and class notes. Here you can find campus map (classes K51 and K53 are in the K building).
Course information The main goal is to introduce notions of measure and Lebesgue integral (with emphasis on the linear measure and Lebesgue integral on the real line), and describe some of their (very numerous) applications.

We will have about 4 homework assignments and an exam at the end. Exam will consist of a few exercises or problems.

Information about the course will be posted on this homepage.

Meeting time Thursday, 10:15 - 12:00, room 3721 (starting on September 12th)   Literature We will follow (with certain deviations) the first three chapters of Avner Friedman, Foundations of Modern Analysis, Dover, 1982. It is available, e.g., from "Swedish Library House", Odengatan 91.

There is an abundance of good books about Lebesgue Integration and Measure Theory, so if you are interested in further reading, we will be happy to provide references.
